Music Birthday: Jerry Wexler

🔊🎉Today, January 10, 1917, Gerald “Jerry” Wexler was born in The Bronx, New York City, New York. Wexler, a music journalist-turned music producer, is responsible for several seminal songs: ‘Rock Steady’ Aretha Franklin, ‘Saved’ by Bob Dylan, ‘Son of a Preacher Man’ by Dusty Springfield, and so many more. Wexler’s work has helped shape the R&B sound, and he’s been inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame, and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
