HomageCollage: D’Angelo, “Voodoo”

🔊💜Today, January 25, 2000, D’Angelo released his sophomore studio album, “Voodoo.” On New Year’s Day 2000, D’Angelo released the sensual single, ‘Untitled (How Does It Feel),’ a song co-produced by D’Angelo and Raphael Saadiq. Like Lauryn Hill’s “Miseducation of Lauryn Hill,” this neo-soul album helped shaped modern R&B and contemporary soul. 14 years later, ‘Untitled (How Does It Feel)’ was sampled by Mac Miller & Rick Ross, in ‘Insomniak.’ Four years after that collaboration, Ne-Yo sampled ‘Untitled (How Does It Feel)’ in ‘Good Man.’ On the US Hot 100, D’Angelo’s seminal song saw no. 25.
