Music Birthday: Bob Marley

🔊🎉Today, February 6, 1945, Bob Marley was born Robert Nesta Marley, in Nine Mile, Jamaica. In 1983, Bob Marley & the Wailers released the black resistance anthem, ‘Buffalo Soldier.’ The song comes from the posthumous “Confrontation” compilation album by Bob Marley and the Wailers. ‘Buffalo Soldier’ became a seminal song, and has since been sampled in ‘Ready or Not’ by Fugees, ‘Cloud Nine’ by Total Devastation, ‘DJ Khaled’ by Azizi Gibson, and more. By March 1996, the Recording Industry Association of America certified “Confrontation” gold.
