Music Birthday: Bobby DeBarge

🔊🥳Today, March 5, 1956, Bobby DeBarge was born Robert Louis DeBarge Jr. in Detroit, Michigan. Before passing away in Grand Rapids from AIDS in 1995, he helped Switch chart five studio albums on the US Billboard 200: “Switch II” (no. 37), “Switch” (no. 37), “Reaching for Tomorrow” (no. 57), “This is My Dream” (no. 85), and “Switch V” (no. 174). From “Switch II,” the song ‘I Call Your Name’ was sampled by Rich Boy’s ‘Throw Some D’s’ ft. Polow Da Don, Lil Yachty’s ‘India (Oh Love),’ and Master P’s ‘Would You.’
