Rest in Paradise: Marvin Gaye

🔊🙏🏾Today, April 1, 1984, Marvin Gaye passed away from gunshot wounds in Los Angeles, California. Gaye won his first Grammy at the 25th Annual Grammy Awards, for ‘Sexual Healing’—the song won for Best R&B Vocal Performance, and it’s instrumental version won for Best R&B Instrumental Performance. The song, now a platinum record, has been sampled in several songs, including Bone Thugs-N-Harmony’s ‘1st of Tha Month,’ Chris Brown’s ‘Back to Sleep,’ and Fat Joe’s ‘Envy.’
