🔊🥳Today, April 2, 1942, Leon Russell was born Claude Russell Bridges in Lawton , Oklahoma. Russell was a multiple Grammy Award-winner, notable songwriter, an all around superstar. His American classic single ‘A Song for You’ has been covered by music legends such as Donny Hathaway, Amy Winehouse, Whitney Houston, Aretha Franklin, Cher, The Temptations, Ron Carter, and many more. In December 2016, the song, a Denny Cordell co-production, peaked at no. 95 on the Japan Hot 100.
