Music Birthday: Marvin Gaye

🔊🥳Today, April 2, 1939, Marvin Gaye was born Marvin Pentz GayJr. in Washington, D.C. Robin Thicke sampled Gaye’s 70’s hit ‘Got to Give It Up’ in his ‘Blurred Lines.’ Thicke’s ‘Blurred Lines’ ft. T.I. and Pharrell, a co-production by the latter, is included on Thicke’s sixth studio album of the same name. Art Stewart produced Marvin Gaye’s ‘Got to Give It Up’ in 1977, and it’s on Gaye’s “Live at the London Palladium” album.
