🔊🙏🏾Today, April 21, 2016, Prince Rogers Nelson passed away from an accidental fentanyl overdose. Prince won an Best Original Song Score Oscar for his musical film, Purple Rain. The film spawned a soundtrack of the same name, also serving as his sixth studio album. The album contains such incredible, lively, lovely songs such as ‘Let’s Go Crazy,’ ‘I Would Die 4 U,’ and ‘When Doves Cry.’ The latter single has been admired and sampled in more than 30 songs; including Bizzy Bone’s ‘Thug Cry,’ The Game’s ‘Rest in Purple,’ MC Hammer’s ‘Pray,’ and Audio Two’s ‘Make it Funky.’
