Childish Gambino: “Because the Internet”

Today, December 10, 2013, Childish Gambino released his eclectic second studio album, “Because the Internet.” This album peaked at nos. 7 and 1 on the US Billboard 200, and iTunes. Released through Glassnote and AWAL, this album has production by Thundercat, Ludwig Gorranson, Chrisitian Rich, Pop Levi, Stefan Ponce and Childish Gambino himself.

The lead single ‘3005’ samples James Brown’s Funky President (People It’s Bad);’ it was produced by Ludwig G., Stefan Ponce and Gambino, and it went on to earn a Grammy nomination for Best Rap Performance. Additionally, “Because the Internet” earned a nomination for Best Rap Album.

Childish Gambino remixed ‘3005’ in 2014, dubbing it ‘3005 (Beach Picnic Version).’ I’m In total agreement with a fan’s comment on YouTube about the latter: “Very slept on version tbh.”
