Jazmine Sullivan’s ‘Pick Up Your Feelings’ is a nice tease to her upcoming “Heaux Tales” album

As underrated as Jazmine Sullivan might be, her fans already know what’s up: she’s a human, a human star. And, she’s slated to drop a new album called “Heaux Tales” in early January 2021. To promote the album, Sullivan released the emotional ‘Pick Up Your Feelings.’

It’s been five years since the ‘Lions, Tigers & Bears’ singer released her “Reality Show” album, and it’s high-time for some more music by this beautiful, vocal powerhouse.

There’s something new about Jazmine Sullivan as well, as you can see in her Instagram posts and, oh yeah – her recent ‘Pick Up Your Feelings’ release. The song is deep, and though it starts off a little questionable for my taste, it in the end woke me up to her deep feelings. ‘Pick Up Your Feelings’ is obviously written with truth and experience, it’s so apparent in Sullivan’s delivery.

Produced by DZL, the pacing of this new single is perfect. By the end, you will go back for replay. I’m in love with the concept of ‘Pick Up Your Feelings’ being about wanting to move on from a bad situation, and yet you still have vivid memories and feels, making it a bit too tough to do so. Yes, the invisible war is real. And, Jazmine Sullivan’s energy helping bringing this poetry to life is super awesome.

Commercially, ‘Pick Up Your Feelings‘ did well on the US Billboard and iTunes charts. Debuting at no. 61 on iTunes, and peaking at no. 15 on the Billboard Hot R&B Songs chart, this song seems to come in perfect timing as social distancing has led to spiritual and emotional cleansing for many.
