Today, February 9, 1942, Carole King Klein was born in Manhattan, NY. Carole’s 1971 hit ‘It’s Too Late’ earned gold certification from the Recording Industry Association of America.

The certification date was July 21, 1971, marking Carole’s first certification from the RIAA. 

Lou Adler produced ‘It’s Too Late,’ and it’s included on her sophomore studio album, “Tapestry.” This album is presently certified 10x platinum (Diamond-status) by the RIAA. Adler produced several films and albums, such Johnny Rivers’ debut live album, “Johnny Rivers at the Whisky à Go Go.”
